Really drew out the Not-Alls with this one, huh?For those of y'all who have your head in your butt, this obviously isn't about all white people because idk if you knew this, but not all white people are racist (though you could argue whether they continue to benefit from systemic racism). This also isn't about all racism, either. No shit people of every race are racist. This is about covert racism that you see a lot in environments where racists are taught that open racism is wrong, but don't internalize why it's wrong. They change how they refer to people because, oh god, they don't want the negative consequences, but they don't change the attitudes or beliefs behind them. It's like those stupid slur-baiting “Who was in Paris?” memes. People understand that they shouldn't say slurs but god darn do they want to. Yes, generalisations are bad, but when you have an institutionalised system of racism, then the outcome is generally the “dominant” race in that system being racist (with varying intensity/intent). That said, this post is about those racist things said by racist white people, not literally all white people. Also I'm not super educated on the topic but I'm hesitant to say racism against white people (at least in country's like America) exist (-24)

Y'all downvoting but this is right. White people as a cultural group still set the standards of representation for our culture. Which means it's important not to associate with the racists by being offended on behalf of the people who claim to represent you.This is the man/bear question all over again. Yes it's not fair you have to be associated with these people. But being offended shows which side you're showing empathy towards. It's a messy topic and that means there's messy lines.These perspectives are not about painting with a wide brush. They're about sharing how the problem is still so endemic that from the perspectives of non-white people are experiencing so much racism that there's no way to talk about individuals only.It's not "all white people are racists".It's "white culture still has so much racism embedded in it".It's a subtle difference but a massive change in perspective if you think about it that way. A zoo in China sparked all out panda-monium after they dressed dogs as pandas because they didn't have the genuine artifact, as seen in viral photos.

The fake pandas, unveiled May 1 at the Taizhou Zoo in Jiangsu Province, were actually Chow Chow dogs — a big-haired breed from Northern China, Jam Press reported.

Zoo officials reportedly trimmed their mane and dyed their faces black to look like China's iconic bamboo-eating bear.

They then put the so-called “panda dogs” on display in an enclosure every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., attracting throngs of people despite the obvious bamboo-zlement, per the sanctuary's staffers.

When asked why they had the canines engage in panda cosplay, a rep explained, “There are no panda bears at the zoo and we wanted to do this as a result.”

Marvel Will Release No More Than Three Movies and Two Shows Per Year, Bob Iger Says

Disney CEO Bob Iger says the company is shrinking the MCU with a new mission to drop the number of Marvel TV series to two a year and the film output to no more than three movies per year.

Iger said this is part of Disney's overall strategy to reduce output and focus on quality, a strategy “that's particularly true with Marvel.”

“We're slowly going to decrease volume and go to probably about two TV series a year instead of what had become four and reduce our film output from maybe four a year to two, or a maximum of three,” the Disney CEO said during the company's quarterly earnings call Tuesday. “And we're working hard on what that path is.”

Iger says Marvel has “a couple of good films in '25 and then we're heading to more ‘Avengers,' which we're extremely excited about,” adding: “Overall, I feel great about the slate. It's something that I've committed to spending more and more time on. The team is one that I have tremendous confidence in and the IP that we're mining, including all the sequels that we're doing, is second to none.”

The announcement is at odds with the most recent release calendar distributed by Disney, which has four films from Marvel Studios slated for 2025 — “Captain America: Brave New World,” “Thunderbolts,” “The Fantastic Four,” and “Blade” — and four more Marvel movies slated for 2026, including the fifth “Avengers” movie. Marvel is releasing a single film in 2024, “Deadpool & Wolverine.” (Historically, the only time Marvel has released more than three movies in a year was in 2021, after the studio sat out 2020 due to the pandemic: “Black Widow,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” “Eternals” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” — the latter of which was a co-production with Sony Pictures.)

On the TV side, Iger says that a portion of the upcoming series, a slate that includes the Kathryn Hahn-led “WandaVision” spinoff “Agatha,” set for release are “a vestige of basically a desire in the past to increase volume.”

While Iger has previously stated plans to reduce Marvel franchise output, he's not previously been this direct in terms of exactly how many titles Disney plans to release for both TV and film each year.

Later in the call, Iger fielded a question about Disney's focus on sequels and originals, noting that the focus is currently more on franchise films: “We're gonna balance sequels with originals. Specifically in animation, we had gone through a period where our original films and animation, both Disney and Pixar, were dominating. We're now swinging back a bit to lean on sequels.”

Iger cited Disney's plans for the next “Toy Story” movie and this summer's release of “Inside Out 2” and said these films have an increased value because known IP costs less to market.

For Marvel, Iger pointed to new movie “Thunderbolts” coming in 2025 alongside sequels “Deadpool & Wolverine” this summer and “Captain America: Brave New World” next year. “It'll just be a balance, which we think is is right,” Iger said.

The devastated family of a woman eaten alive by a safari park tiger are suing zoo bosses for £250,000.

The tragic incident began when a young woman got out of a car inside the Siberian tiger enclosure to berate her partner in the driver's seat.

One of the powerful creatures quickly pounced at Badaling Wildlife Park in Beijing, China.

Her mother and a man then also got out and went to her rescue.

The older woman, known only by her surname Zhao, was then attacked by a second tiger who dragged her to her death as park rangers frantically tried to intervene.

Her daughter survived the attack and launched a bid for compensation.

Yanqing district government said the tourists should be held accountable as they ignored warnings from the park authorities.

But now the family are seeking damages of £250,000 (HK$2.3 million), which the park rejected.

The horrendous incident was partly captured on shocking CCTV footage.

A silver car is driving along a paved pathway through the park when it comes to a stop.

A young woman gets out of the front passenger seat, slams her door and stomps round to the driver's side.

The driver also opens his door as the woman appears to remonstrate with him.

But within seconds, a tiger appears from nowhere and pounces on the woman's back from behind.

She appears to hear it coming only at the last second and is unable to escape.

The animal pulls her to the ground and away from the vehicle with lightning speed.

The man gets out of the car and for a moment appears unsure whether to get back in or go after the woman.

He then disappears off camera.

A few seconds later, the older woman also gets out the car as park rangers appear in a jeep.

The man appears to motion her back into the vehicle, but she runs with him off camera as well.

The second tiger attack is not captured on camera.

The park has been closed while an investigation is underway, according to local media.

Sources told ChinaNews said the accident involved a family of four including three adults and a child.

As the vehicle travelled through the Siberian tiger garden area, there was an "altercation" between the young woman and man who was driving.

She suddenly got out of the car and went to try and open his door.
