For good measure I even copied a popular artists style and pretended it was their work.

Both of these subs are absolute about ai, however obviously the only actual rule is you need to hide using ai.

You will notice a lack of drama on any of these posts, because I did too good a job hiding it and literally none of the usual caught them

In the language learning world there are two types of people.

1. The people who learn for some practical purpose, their bf speaks the language, or they need it for work etc
2. The people who want to impress others by being a person who can speak X

Naturally most redditors fall into the second category. They're an underrated drama-positive group imo because they treat number of languages spoken in the same way that chuds view IQ points, like as in an objective measurement of your social ability. And so threads are often incredibly competitive, humblebragging, dragging each other down nonsense.

So like people who assume that if you can speak another language that you can also read and write in that language, and vise-versa. What annoying assumptions have people made that annoyed you?

Let's see what insults these redditors have had to put up with from the plebs today.

That you somehow have much more free time than them, because they "would love to learn a language, but can't find the time". If you're serious about it, you'll find the time.

It's insane that people can be so insulting when trying to justify why they don't have a skill that you have. They also say you're "lucky" to have such a "talent" for learning languages, as if you didn't put years of practice into that.

I HATE the talent word usage. I have picked up a lot of skills over the years, I wrote a book, I have calligraphic handwriting, I write nice notes, and I'm B1 in Russian. This did not happen in a day, I wasn't born writing fancy notes, I spent hundreds of hours honing those abilities to the point that it's effortless now, yet all I get is "Omg you're so smart and talented". Ugh.

Naturally they're are also extremely neurodivergent and don't know when someone's just being nice and that they don't actually want to learn Icelandic or whatever with you

They find some word, or a meme in that language and it's a word you don't know or regional slang you're not familiar with. So you can't tell them what it means.

"I thought you spoke ___(whatever language)"

As if they know every word in English.

As I am an independent learner, they assume I just play with Duolingo and don't really know anything. Duo has really damaged the reputation of the independent learners :-(

Now everyone thinks I'm as low class as those, ugh, phone app people

I'm studying Japanese and i feel like i'm often judged and that people think i'm just someone who knows how to say "kawaii", "manga" and "sushi" and will lose interest in the language in three days despite having studied it seriously for years.

Japanese anime enjoyers probably have enough autism power to take it more seriously than most tbh

I actually didn't tell anyone that I'm learning Japanese. I'm a little scared that people would assume I'm this weird guy who loves hentai or something.

That's because you're not focusing on the actually important complaints. The devs have said over and over that they would not have a historical figure as a main character out of respect. It is not a coincidence that the character to buck this trend is the one black man on the entire archipelago. (10)

I'll agree that Yasuke being a main playable character strikes me as pandering, but he's also a very interesting historical character to base your narrative around and it allows the player to play as a stranger in a strange land, and it's ultimately not doing any harm to any groups, so why is everyone so mad about seeing a minority lead character in a AAA game. There's a lot of other games about white characters in out of place lands that no one has cried out over, so why is there so much butthurt when it's a black guy in a foreign land? I'm not saying explicitly that y'all are racist, but it's mighty suspicious that mfers are so mad (3)

He died and was buried in Japan. Yasuke does not have even a tenth of the documentation Adam's has about him. Also, Adam lived there for 7 times the duration Yasuke did.Resident Evil? I do not understand your point. Do you mean the Spanish Village in 4 or Africa in 5? Because with both examples, you mainly play as someone who has literally no connection to the area. No one is claiming Leon is a Spanish warrior or Chris an African one.
